Five things we learned from WWE NXT as Ethan Page fools Je’Von Evans and Fraxiom retain titles
WWE NXT moved away from the Performance Center yet again as the development show came from Lowell, Massachusetts.
Famously the venue where Shawn Michaels ‘lost his smile’, the WWE NXT booker once again used his wrestling history to tell a narrative on his show.
Here are five things we learned from WWE NXT.
Trick Williams vs Eddy Thorpe ends in no-contest
Trick Williams drop-off since winning the NXT Championship is entirely down to his booking and it needs to be sorted out as soon as possible.
Williams is still an over-babyface, but feuds and stories with the likes of Eric Bischoff, Bully Ray, and Ridge Holland have cooled the star.
His NXT Championship match with Eddy Thorpe in the main event did nothing to help the star either, as the match ended in a no-contest with both men pinning each other.
With a very mediocre men’s division right now, it might be best if Williams gets moved up to the main roster despite not being ready for it.
Learning on the job and rekindling his feud with Carmelo Hayes will do far more for him than his current status in the developmental brand.

Oba Femi defeats Axiom
Oba Femi is going to be one of the biggest stars in WWE and his rise continued with a fun match against Axiom.
Axiom pulling double duty after Nathan Frazer did the same at NXT Deadline was a nice touch and furthered the pair’s dissension.
Femi picked up the win in dominant style and the Spanish star did an excellent job of bumping for the Nigerian giant.
Fraxiom rally to retain NXT titles against Gallus
The ‘Will they? Won’t They?’ between Axiom continued, but they once again overcame the stacked odds to retain their NXT Tag Team Championships.
Frazer and Axiom are the best tag teams in the entire company at this point and they continue to produce stellar matches week in, and week out.
Their potential break-up is coming, but for now, watching them in tandem is about as good as it gets in WWE.
Zakaria and Sol Ruca are fun, unlikely tag team
Meta Four defeated Zakaria and Sol Ruca in a fun tag team match with the right winners as Jakara Jackson and Lash Legend need to heat up after their stint on the main roster.
Zakaria and Sol Ruca proved to be an entertaining team with some fun tandem offense and there’s definitely room to explore their chemistry some more.
With Stephanie Vaquer and Giulia dominating the NXT Women’s Championship division, this could be a fun way to use these stars in the meantime.
Ethan Page takes advantage of Je’Von Evans
After weeks of indecision and doubt, Ethan Page finally showed his true colors by attacking Je’Von Evans in the ring.
A not-so-subtle reference to Michaels’ ‘lost my smile’ angle, Page told Evans he was going to take his smile before hitting him with a microphone.
All Ego attacked Evans with a chair in a well-directed attack and it looks as if Page will be staying on the NXT roster for a little while longer.
A reunion with Josh Alexander would have been a better direction, but there’s still a story to tell with an ultra-heel Page in NXT.
