The story follows Cameron Weaver, a sensitive 12-year-old boy, and his mother Katherine, who flee to a secluded rural farmhouse to escape their troubled past—particularly the boy’s father, who has been deemed dangerous and mentally unstable.
The farmhouse they move into once belonged to Frank McTavish, a man who died under mysterious circumstances. It’s rumored that his own guard dogs turned on him, and the property has been abandoned since.
